The Dunham Technique Intensive is a multi-day public Dunham Technique immersion experience. Dunham based classes will be offered each day – including Dunham and Dunham based Haitian, West African, Afro Cuban, Modern and more! It is open to the public and does not require previous Dunham training. It is ideal for both experienced Dunham dancers and for dancers who want an introduction to Dunham Technique. All classes will be taught by certified Dunham teachers.

For those on the certification path, this is an important opportunity to work toward embodiment of the technique. For this reason, we encourage those attending the Certification Workshop to also attend the Intensive.

Embedded in the Intensive, we offer the Educator Track. This is designed for dance educators interested in learning more about the teaching of Dunham Technique, and the history, theory and philosophies of the technique. It is ideal for those not interested in Certification, but who would like to include Dunham more knowledgeably in their curriculum.

This year, for the second time, we will offer our newest program called Dunham Foundations, optional but highly recommended, to be held the week prior to the Intensive, July 13-18, 2026. This programming is intended for dancers who are interested in certification, including those who are applying for 2027 and those who wish to apply in the future. Space is limited so early registration is advised.

This week of Dunham Technique classes along with a few folkloric classes and some lectures will help those interested in certification ready themselves for the Intensive and the audition.

We recognize that it is hard to find Dunham training so we offer Dunham Foundations to address this.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

The Institute for Dunham Technique Certification (IDTC) will not provide refunds for students who chose to cancel their registration; instead funds will be held as a credit for participation in future IDTC programming. $100.00 of all 2026 Intensive Payments is nonrefundable and nontransferable and will be subtracted from any potential program credit. Credits will not have an expiration date.

IDTC will continue to be mindful of the ongoing global pandemic and reserves the right to shift programming from in person or virtual to support the safety of all participants. Any shifts will be communicated using the contact information provided during registration.

We look forward to staying in touch!

In the event that IDTC needs to shift the 2026 Intensive to an online offering, all registered students will receive a partial refund that reflects the difference in cost between the in-person and online programs. Should a registered student choose not to participate in the 2026 online offering, their balance will be held as a credit for participation in future IDTC programming (minus the $100.00 nontransferable portion). This credit will not have an expiration date. If you have questions about this policy, please contact info@dunhamcertification.org
