ALEXANDRIA DAVIS

Alexandria Davis is a transdisciplinary artist and scholar. She identifies as a dancer, researcher, and theatre deviser. A manipulator of nonverbal commentary, Alexandria creates dance theatre. She refers to her choreography as alternative dance narratives of history and African-American myth. A wielder of inherited swag. Her movement is her story. 

Alexandria is a member of the Woodshed Collective, an international group of creatives developing performance research methodologies for storytelling and interdisciplinary performance.

Alexandria holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Michigan and a BFA in Dance and Dance in Medicine certification from the University of Florida.

She is a certified Dunham Technique teacher and Assistant Professor of Dance in the Department of Theatre at Michigan State University.
