University of Southern Indiana Dorm Amenities
Overview
Dorms are four person/two bedroom.
Approximately 700 shared square feet (room layouts - review resident halls only)
Each dorm suite is equipped with a mini-kitchen area, including sink, storage cabinets and under-the-counter refrigerator (provided). Residents must provide dishes, utensils, microwave, etc.
Common living areas include couch, and chair.
Residents are responsible for cleaning their apartments and must provide their own cleaning supplies and trash cans.
Children are allowed to stay in the dorms and minors are no additional costs. Additional cost for the meal plan will apply.
BedroomS
Each bedroom has a private bathroom with a towel bar. A shower liner and hooks are provided. Most residents bring a shower curtain. Residents must provide bedding, pillows, toilet paper, towels, toiletries, etc.
Bedrooms include two desks and two chairs and two twin beds with mattresses (beds are standard size twin). Furniture varies among apartments.
Each bedroom has two closets. All closets have a top shelf that runs the length of the closet. Doors slide on all closets in residence halls.
Overhead lighting with ample outlets for individual lamps (halogen not permitted).
Technology
Bedrooms are equipped with Ethernet connections and wireless Internet access (resident must provide Ethernet cord). There is no specific cord length as it depends on how residents choose to arrange the furniture in the rooms.
There are cable outlets in living room and bedrooms (resident must provide cable cord). There is no specific cord length as it depends on how residents choose to arrange the furniture in the rooms. TV wall mounts are prohibited. There is no recommended TV size as that is the student's personal preference.
Additional Amenities
Located in the McDonald West apartment area is the Residence Life Community Center, which includes a laundry facility, community space, computers, pay printer, ATM, copy machine and convenience store, Eagle Express.
There is a large laundry room in O'Daniel South and additional laundry facilities available in each apartment building in McDonald East community. Laundry rooms in O'Daniel South and the Residence Life Community Center use coins . Laundry in McDonald East is coin only. Laundry is $1.50 to wash per load and $1.25 to dry per load.
The University of Southern Indiana is a dry (alcohol and drug free) campus.
Costs for Housing & Meals
Shared Room per person per night: $30 ($28 + $2 taxes & payment processing fees)
Single Room per person per night: $36 ($34 + $2 taxes & payment processing fees)
June 1, 2022 registration deadline
There is a $60 fee for lost keys
$25 per bag of trash left behind (Please clean up after yourself)
Meal Plan per person per day: $34 ($32 + $2 taxes & payment processing fees)
We strongly encourage all Conference attendees to reside in the University of Southern Indiana Residence Hall Dorms to minimize interactions with additional people in support of the health and safety of all who are present.
