Myrtha Muse

A gifted and accomplished dancer, choreographer, and teacher, Myrtha Muse has worked with and inspired young dancers for over 25 years. As a versatile dancer, she has worked with national, regional and international master dance pioneers Katherine Dunham, Jean Leon Destiné, Malonga Casquelord, and Nontsizi Cayou. She has studied, taught, toured and performed a variety of dance genres and techniques; Traditional Haitian, Modern, Traditional West African, Jazz, Hip Hop, Improvisation and experimental forms.

Currently she is an independent performing arts specialist in the Oakland and San Francisco School Districts, where she continues to support and promote community performing arts education through Dance With Reason, as its Founder and Executive Director since its inception in 1996. Ms. Muse is a graduate of San Francisco State University with the degrees of Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Ethnic Studies: Humanities.
